The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.
SASSA might be rendering providers including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed in regards to the higher number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The support place created for intervention encounters a substantial inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it complicated for the office to attend to website all people who go to a service point.
